Growing up surrounded by the aromatic spices of my Indian heritage and the fresh produce of my grandmother’s garden, I developed a deep appreciation for the connection between food, nature, and well-being. This love for wholesome ingredients and vibrant flavors inspired me to create The Soulful Cook.

It all started with a simple desire to share the joy of plant-based cooking with my loved ones. As I began experimenting in the kitchen, I discovered a passion for creating vegan versions of our favorite recipes. It was a delightful challenge to whip up dishes without relying on oil or refined sugars, and seeing the smiles on the faces of my family and friends as they savored each bite was truly rewarding.

As I delved deeper into the world of plant-based cooking, I realized that there were many people out there who were curious about transitioning to a vegan lifestyle but felt intimidated by the idea of giving up their favorite foods. That’s when I knew I wanted to show them that plant-based eating can be both delicious and satisfying.

The Soulful Cook was born out of a desire to make plant-based cooking accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Through my recipes and cooking tips, I aim to demonstrate how easy it is to whip up flavorful, nourishing meals without sacrificing taste or enjoyment. I’ve always LOVED cooking, hosting fun dinner parties, and creating different recipes (Monica Geller is my spirit animal). I’d take pride in calling myself an animal lover, but felt like a hypocrite while consuming animal dairy/meat at the same time, that’s when we watched Cowspiracy & What the Health on Netflix. My husband and I were heartbroken after learning how animals were treated, but were also shocked to see all the health benefits of a Vegan lifestyle, so we decided to try it ourselves especially since my husband has Ulcerative Colitis and we were desperate for a way to improve his health.

3 years ago, when we made that decision, we never thought how drastically it would change our lives…for the better. Our health improved VASTLY by eliminating dairy, meat, processed foods, overly processed fats, refined sugar, etc. and we were FULL of energy. It was the best decision we had ever made.

I would veganize our favorite recipes and amaze our family and friends by cooking without oil or refined sugars, that’s how The Soulful Cook started. I realized how many people there are who are transitioning to a Plant Based/Vegan lifestyle and wanted to show them how easy it is to still have your favorite foods without feeling like your food is ‘lacking flavor or taste’.
