Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie – 4 INGREDIENT MOUSSE

The Holidays is my MOST favorite time of the year- between the decorations, the cheer, and the baking..I LOVE it all! Pies are something that I LOVE baking throughout the year, but baking during the Holidays is just a whole different kind of joy. This Chocolate Mousse is made with JUST 4 Ingredients and it can be used in so many different ways. I’ve used the mousse as a pie, but you can easily leave it as a mousse or as tarts. This easy chocolate mousse pie is a MUST for the Holidays.

Vegan Holiday Baking

It’s Holiday season (am I early? maybe..do I care? never haha). I can’t get enough of Holiday baking, the smell of cinnamon in my kitchen, the cute little gingerbread men, or all the different holiday themed treats.. what’s NOT to love.

A lot of newbie Vegans scare away from Holidays because they feel like they can’t enjoy some of their favorite Holiday foods now that they’re vegan, but it’s not true at all! I actually enjoy Holiday baking way more as a Vegan compared to when I wasn’t. It’s mainly because I know what I’m eating is far healthier than what I would have had as an omni.

Why you need this 4 Ingredient Mousse in your life

Well, firstly, it’s only 4 ingredients!!! Second off, you can use this easy mousse ingredients to create SO MANY DIFFERENT DESSERTS! It’s nuts! You can use this as a pie like I did, you can use it as an actual mousse, you can even use it as mini chocolate tarts, plus so much more. It’s just an amazing recipe to have on hand. Did I mention it takes less than 20 minutes to make?

Let’s talk substitutions

I get it, some ingredients are either hard to find or not something you’d like to have. Here’s a couple of substitutions you can use in this recipe to make it work for you.

  • 1/2 cup pitted dates – can be substituted with 1/4 cup maple syrup or agave
  • 12 oz silken tofu – can be substituted with 1.5 cups soaked cashews

What about the pie crust?

Luckily, Keebler makes a ready made Graham Pie crust that’s also Vegan (but it does have a lot of refined sugar, other processed ingredients). I’ve just made my nuts & dates pie crust and set it in these super handy aluminum pie pans.

  1. Melt the chocolate chips (I just melted them in a microwave in 10 second intervals, but you can also melt via a double boiler on the stovetop)
  2. In a high speed blender (I used my Vitamix), add all the ingredients, and blend until smooth

  3. Pour the mousse into a prepared pie crust (you can use a Vegan ready made pie crust or you can use my GF 3 ingredient pie crust)
