5 Minute Vegan Hot Chocolate

Hot Cocoa + Holiday Season = best feeling ever! Is there really anything better than a cup of hot cocoa in your cozy Christmas pjs watching a classic Christmas movie? This Vegan Hot Cocoa is a perfect cup of warmth and sweetness combined in one. It takes only around 5 minutes to make and you can add in any of your favorite toppings you’d like.

Let’s talk chocolate

This recipe calls for cocoa powder AND vegan chocolate chips, which you can find easily. I used Nestle Toll House for both, but any brand will work just fine. Nestle’s allergen free chocolate chip morsels are a little sweeter and bigger than Enjoy Life chocolate chips, so I do prefer using them for this recipe.

What kind of milk should I use?

Any non-dairy milk will work fine, but I prefer Almond Milk best (unsweetened). You can also use sweetened if you want that extra sweetness to it.

What else can I add to my hot chocolate?

I love adding vegan marshmallows and a candy cane. Just be warned, if you do put in a candy cane, it will melt and leave a strong peppermint flavor (which isn’t such a bad thing) hah!

Do I have to add ground cinnamon?

Not at all! Best part about this recipe is you can experiment with it to make it your own in any way you’d like. I LOVE cinnamon in everything, so I added it in there for an extra kick, but it’s completely optional.
