Garlic Cajun Chicken Drumsticks

Get your Cajun on with these flavorful garlic chicken drumsticks. They're crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a hint of spice in every bite. These drumsticks will steal the show at your next dinner party or even bbq!

I like to plan my dinners ahead of time, so I know what needs to be prepared and when to make it. Since I work full time as well, I need to get a bit creative with what I make; I usually go for the quick but tasty dishes on the weeknights. These garlic cajun drumsticks are not only quick and easy, but they are so flavorful and juicy in every bite.

Whenever I marinade chicken, I usually keep it for about 3 days so the chicken is completely infused with all the spices. You can always just marinade it for 4-6 of hours if you need to, but I highly recommend letting it marinade for at least that much time if not 3 days.

Ingredients: 6-8 Chicken Drumsticks 1/4 cup Olive Oil 4-5 Cloves of Garlic OR 1 Tbsp Garlic Paste 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika 1 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper 1 Tbsp Onion Powder 1 Tbsp Dried Oregano 1 Tbsp Black Pepper 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder 1 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes 2 Tbsp chopped Parsley Salt to taste


  1. In a small bowl, combine all the dry spices together.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken drumsticks, olive oil, garlic cloves (or garlic paste). Add the dry spice mixture and parsley into the bowl and mix well.

  3. I recommend using your hands to mix all the ingredients together, it ensures you are covering every bit of the chicken with the spice rub.

  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 days for best results.

When ready to cook: 

To Bake: Preheat oven to 550º F and line a baking sheet with foil. Bake the drumsticks for 15 minutes and then broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

To Grill: This is also a great recipe for grilling for your next BBQ! After marination, just throw them on the grill (make sure you oil the grill so the chicken doesn't stick). Grill the chicken for about 25 minutes, flipping them over and basting with any remaining marinade every 7-8 minutes.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve. :)
