One of my favorite finger foods or appetizer for any day. These are perfect for get togethers with family and friends, esp the young kiddos. THey’re super easy to make and a HUGE crowd pleaser (omnivore approved). Just dip in your favorite sauce and enjoy :)
Do I have to use Tofu?
Not at all, you can EASILY use this for tempeh, cauliflower, or any meat substitute of your choice (works best with cauliflower and tofu in my opinion).
What kind of tofu should I use?
Extra Firm is the best tofu to use to get that crispy texture you want
Do I have to press the tofu before I cut it?
Yes!! This is a very important step to ensure we get that crispy coating for the tofu. If you don't have a tofu press, don't worry - I just used the lid of my handy dandy Dutch Oven (the lid alone ways a ton!), but anything heavy will work.
What can I use instead of corn flour?
What's a good sauce to use for the dip?
My favorites are my homemade Tzatziki sauce or some vegan ranch..even bbq sauce and regular ol' ketchup would be great. I use an all organic ketchup made by Primal Kitchen that you can find on Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Trader Joe's (it has NO sugar or oil - only organic ingredients)
Vegan Parmesan Cheese - the easiest Vegan cheese you'll ever make!
This is probably the EASIEST vegan cheese I've made and you know what, it's probably the tastiest too. It actually tastes like parmesan cheese and it's only 4 simple ingredients. My favorite part about this parmesan recipe is that it melts and I LOVE that!

1 block extra firm tofu
1/2 cup non dairy milk
1/2 cup corn flour
3/4 cup gluten free bread crumbs
1 tsp paprika (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup homemade parmesan
Preheat oven to 400º F and line a baking tray with nonstick parchment paper
Make sure your tofu is pressed to remove any remaining moisture, if the tofu still has moisture it will not be as crispy. Cut tofu into strips
Take 3 deep bowls and add the almond milk in one, corn flour in one, and gluten free bread crumbs in one
If you’re adding homemade parmesan, add it to the gluten free bread crumbs and mix.
Add the paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the corn flour - mix well.
Take one piece of the tofu and dip it in the corn flour bowl, make sure it’s evenly coated in the flour.
Then gently dip it in the almond milk
Then dip it in the gluten free bread crumbs and evenly coat the tofu stick with the bread crumbs - transfer to baking sheet
Repeat for the rest of the tofu
Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until it starts to brown.
Serve with your favorite dip or sauce
